Terms of Service

Upkept is a digital subscription tool that turns a described home fault into a structured diagnosis, a tools and parts checklist, a numbered repair walkthrough and an exportable Fix-It Plan. It is delivered entirely online. We do not attend properties, dispatch tradespeople, sell parts, or arrange any in-person work.

All outputs are information and guidance generated from what you describe. They are best-effort inferences, may be inaccurate, and are not the judgement of a qualified tradesperson or a substitute for on-site professional inspection. You are solely responsible for any work you choose to carry out and for deciding whether a task is within your ability.

These rules are a condition of using Upkept:

• Gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
• Fixed electrical work must be carried out by a qualified, registered electrician.
• Structural, load-bearing, asbestos, roofing and working-at-height tasks must be done by the relevant specialist.

Upkept does not provide hands-on instructions for these regulated tasks; it only advises when to call a professional. If you smell gas, see sparking or scorching, have a serious leak, or notice a risk of collapse, stop immediately, isolate the gas, electricity or water supply if safe, leave the area and contact the appropriate emergency service.

You must be at least 18 to hold a subscription. The service may not be used by anyone under 13. Users aged 13–17 may only use it with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, and any task involving tools, electricity or working at height must be supervised by an adult.

You agree not to misuse the service, including using it for property you do not own or control without consent, or to fabricate warranty, insurance or statutory safety documentation. See our Acceptable Use Policy.

Plans are pure subscriptions in USD, billed through our payment processor. Handy is free; Fixer and Workshop are paid. Monthly diagnosis quotas reset each period and do not carry over. There are no credits, top-ups or stored balances. Prices and inclusions are shown on the Pricing page.

You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refund terms are set out in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

We own the Upkept platform and its underlying content. You retain ownership of what you upload and, under our Content License, receive a licence to use the assets we generate for you. You grant us a limited licence to process your inputs solely to deliver the service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Upkept is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on its outputs, from work you carry out, or from failure to engage a qualified professional where required. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
