- Is Upkept a substitute for a qualified tradesperson?
- No. Upkept is an information and guidance tool. Every diagnosis is a best-effort inference from what you describe and may be wrong. It never replaces an on-site inspection by a qualified professional, and it will not walk you through regulated gas, fixed-electrical or structural work.
- Do you come to my home or send anyone out?
- No. Upkept is an online-only digital subscription. We do not send tradespeople, dispatch jobs, sell parts, or arrange any in-person work. You get diagnosis, guidance and exportable plans — nothing physical.
- What about gas, electrics and anything at height?
- Gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, fixed electrical work by a qualified registered electrician, and structural, roofing or asbestos work by the relevant specialist. Upkept only tells you when to call a professional for these — it does not guide the hands-on work.
- How do the plans and quotas work?
- Plans are pure subscriptions in USD. Handy is free with one diagnosis a month; Fixer and Workshop add more diagnoses, all five image assets, the Fix-It Plan PDF and repair walkthrough reels. Quotas reset each period and do not carry over. There are no credits or stored balances.
- What happens to the photos I upload?
- You keep ownership of anything you upload. You grant a limited licence to process it only to generate your results, and uploads are cleared from cache after 30 days by default. We do not use your inputs to train models.
